Major tasks are identified and prioritized. Within each major task, each key step is defined and the efforts required to complete that task are called out. Each is budgeted for responsibility, manpower and estimated cost to complete. Finally, each task's relationship to the completed project is determined. Where necessary, manpower allocations are adjusted to ensure completion on time and within budget. An overall diagram of the project is developed and start and end dates for each item listed.
Using these computerized planning and scheduling methods, hundreds of details can be tracked and brought together on time and within predetermined budgets. You are kept informed of progress and expenditures against budget. You know if anyone's falling behind before it's too late! Adjustments in personnel assignments or other steps can be accomplished to avoid a delay in the project's completion.
